with a textured faux black faux leather (leatherette) exterior

Constructed of silvered brass with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie style ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, surrounding a central enameled medallion consisting of a black and white checkered centrepiece situated within a red border, the reverse affixed with a ribbed oval backplate, topped by a crimped hinge and vertical pinback
