In heavily toned silver, unmarked, measuring 29. 2 mm (w) x 53 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, silver clasp on its original ribbon, suspended from a traditional Spanish horizontal broach hanger with pinback, light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The medal was instituted on June 29, 1916 and awarded for meritorious service in Morocco from that date. Melilla on the north African coast had been Spanish since 1497 and Ceuta
