Germany, Ss. A First Pattern Totenkopf Cap Insignia Auction 1919 and was struck off(SS Mtzenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a first pattern SS Totenkopf, with prominent spaced teeth and sutures executed in high relief, the reverse with one of two attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 32. 46 mm (w) x 29. 33 mm (h), weighing 2. 0 grams, although most of the obverse silver finish has been lost the patina continues to give the insignia a striking appearance, in overall very fine condition.
