Germany, Third Reich. A German Olympic Games Commemorative Medal, with Case Republic of reverse plain but marked MADE(Deutsche Olympia Erinnerungsmedaille 1936 mit Etui). Instituted 31 July 1936. (1936 1937 issue). Constructed of silvered magnetic steel, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised column topped by Olympic ring, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, and flanked by a date of 1936, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of FR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN
